A Check-in time at our Carmel-by-the-Sea bed and breakfast hotel is between 3pm and 10pm each day. If you happen to arrive early, we're happy to store your luggage until your room becomes available. If you plan to arrive after 10 pm, please make sure to let our staff at the hotel know in advance.
A The check-out time at The Colonial Terrace is 11am. Be sure to rise early and enjoy a complimentary Continental breakfast in our lobby before you leave. We understand it won't be easy to leave after spending a relaxing time at our hotel and exploring the best of Carmel, CA attractions, but hopefully, you can come back soon to visit us as you're now part of the family.
A Complimentary self-parking is available on Carmelo Street and San Antonio Avenue. Please note that there are limited spaces available and are on a first-come, first-served basis. If you park on the street, be advised that you should not park on the east side of San Antonio Avenue along the brick wall (refer to hotel map provided at check-in). Violators will be cited by the City of Carmel.
A We know four-legged friends matter. Unfortunately, The Colonial Terrace does not accommodate pets in any of our rooms and suites or in the common areas of our boutique bed and breakfast hotel.
A Yes, you may stay connected during your stay with us. For our registered guests, the hotel offers complimentary high-speed wireless Internet access in all rooms and suites as well as public spaces. When accessing the Wi-Fi network, please select "Colonial Wi-Fi" and enter the password provided at check-in and agree to the terms & conditions.
A We serve a complimentary Continental breakfast in the main lobby daily from 7:30am to 10am. Freshly baked cookies are also served in the main lobby daily at 4pm. Unfortunately, we do not have a restaurant or bar on-site, however, our friendly staff at the front desk is happy to offer recommendations on local restaurants or please visit our dining page. (If you plan to walk to Carmel at night, keep in mind that the streets of Carmel become very dark at night. For your convenience and safety, we provide complimentary flashlights that can be picked up at the front desk.
A We take pride in hosting our guests in immaculate accommodations for your peace of mind and comfort. Daily housekeeping service is provided between 9am and 4pm at our bed and breakfast hotel in Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA. If you prefer service at a specific time, please contact the front desk and we'll be happy to make the arrangements.

A We allow guests to modify their reservation up to 48 hours prior to arrival without any penalties. Modifications resulting in a reduction of the number of reserved room nights less than 48 hours of arrival or during your stay will result in a charge of $100.00 per day that is reduced.
A Reservations may be cancelled or modified at no charge if notice is provided by 12 Noon 48 hours prior to the arrival date. If cancellations or modifications are made within the 48 hour period, you may be subject to cancellation and early departure fees. Extended stay reservations (seven or more nights) canceled or changed with less than a seven-day notice will forfeit their advance deposit. Cancellations or changes to holiday/event reservations must be made at least 7 days prior to arrival to receive a full refund of deposit. Reservations cancelled within 48 hours of arrival time will forfeit the advance deposit.
A Things happen and we understand you may need to cancel. For reservations made online, you can visit our booking engine accessible from our website and cancel online, using the confirmation number sent to you at the time of reservation. For phone reservations, contact us at 1.800.345.8220 and we will be happy to make any changes or cancellations in line with our cancellation and modification policy.
A Reservations must be guaranteed by providing a valid credit card at the time of booking. A deposit equal to the first night room and tax will be charged to the card provided at 12 Noon, 48 hours prior to arrival. For stays of seven or more nights, we require an advance deposit equal to 25% of the total anticipated room & tax charges at the time of booking. Reservations over special event/holiday dates require one night deposit due at the time of booking.
A Our Best Rate Guarantee assures you that you will find the lowest published Internet rate on our website at www.thecolonialterrace.com. If you find a rate lower than what is shown on our website that is visible and bookable on another website for the same room type, same dates and length of stay, we will verify the availability of the other site's price, and if it is lower, we will match it and discount it by 10%. A Smoking is not permitted in the Colonial Terrace's guest rooms and suites or indoor public spaces as these areas are 100% non-smoking. You're more than welcome to smoke in designated, outdoor sections of the hotel.
